Job Summary
Collaborate with physicians and administrators to deliver continuity of patient care, assessing and providing interventions for health care and treatment problems including teaching, counseling, and support. Perform direct patient care duties such as taking vital signs, administering injections, practicing phlebotomy techniques, and conducting lab procedures while maintaining EMR charting proficiency. Manage patient referrals and follow-up within a fast-paced clinic environment requiring prioritization and frequent task changes. Requires a Certified Medical Assistant Program completion, BLS certification, and one year of medical experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Completion of Certified Medical Assistant Program
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Certified Federal Drug Screen Collector
- Certified Breath Alcohol Technician
- Minimum of one year medical experience in a clinic or hospital setting
- Competence in taking vital signs
- Competence in giving injections
- Competence in practicing phlebotomy techniques
- Competence in lab procedures
- Knowledge of computer EMR charting systems
- Familiarity with patient referral and follow-up
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to prioritize and change tasks frequently and quickly
- Proficiency with computers
- Proficiency with fax machine
- Proficiency with copy machine
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work well in a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Three years' experience in direct patient care
