Job Summary
Assist the physician in patient treatment issues, provide direct patient care, and maintain proper standards of care. Perform patient check-out procedures, schedule follow-up and referral visits, collect deductibles and co-pays, and assist with physical examinations. Obtain laboratory specimens and prepare them for transport while providing clerical support for scheduled events. Adhere to professional ethics regarding patient confidentiality, enforce safety practices, and report hazards to initiate appropriate action. Participate in safety instructional programs. This 1st shift role at DeKalb Orthopedics & Sports Medicine supports a 134-bed facility serving Northeast Alabama and Western Georgia.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- Six months to one year of physician office experience preferred
- Certified Medical Assistant preferred
