Job Summary
Provide direct patient care as an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate at Wesleyan University Health Services. Deliver primary and urgent care, gynecological care, preventive care, and minor procedures for a diverse student population; prescribe medications, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and initiate referrals as appropriate; educate patients on conditions, treatment plans, prevention, and wellness; collaborate with medical leadership and clinical team; contribute to clinical policy implementation, standing orders, triage workflows, and quality improvement; maintain licensure and certifications and support accreditation and regulatory requirements; participate in chart reviews and ongoing clinical protocol development; on-campus, 0.75 FTE for a 9-month academic year with required Saturday clinic coverage. Offer includes on-campus responsibilities and a 12-month salary paid over 12 months.
Required Qualifications
- Current Connecticut licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Associate
- Must hold or be eligible for Connecticut DEA licensure and Controlled Substance Registration licensure
- Minimum of five years of experience providing direct patient care
- Demonstrated experience assessing, diagnosing, and treating acute and chronic medical conditions in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting
- Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment and work independently within scope of practice
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare environment
- Experience using electronic health record systems and clinical documentation platforms
- Experience participating in clinical protocols, standing orders, or workflow processes in a healthcare setting
- Experience supporting clinical quality, compliance, or regulatory standards in an outpatient or ambulatory healthcare setting
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with diverse patient populations and colleagues
- Demonstrated commitment to professional, ethical, and legal standards of clinical practice
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive healthcare practices
