Job Summary
Conduct individual, group, and family counseling for mental health and substance use while maintaining a client caseload to improve emotional, social, and daily functioning. Complete comprehensive biopsychosocial history assessments, create person-centered treatment plans, and provide crisis management services by appointment or walk-in. Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff, referral agencies, and local entities like DSS and Probation to develop discharge plans and link clients to community resources. Empower clients by respecting their choices regarding cultural, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. Maintain mandatory documentation on EHR, complete urine drug screens, and comply with New York State and Federal regulations. Attend weekly staff meetings, treatment teams, and supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in social work or mental health from an accredited school
- Licensed eligible
- Continuing professional education required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with mental health and substance use population is preferred
