Job Summary
Clinician III responsible for performing complex assessments, treatment planning, clinical interventions, consultation and authorization of treatment duties in a mental health and substance abuse setting. Conducts thorough psycho-social assessments for individuals receiving mental health rehabilitation services, including Psycho-social Rehabilitation Services as part of admission/intake. Delivers high-level clinical services to adults with mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders; assists with crisis prevention and intervention; performs quality assurance and medical necessity reviews for PSR services; ensures timely submission of authorizations for PSR services through Magellan or other payers. Provides oversight and clinical guidance for PSR staff, collaborates with program supervisor on staff development and supervision, aids in training and ongoing staff supervision, identifies staffing resources, trains PSR staff to maintain clinical and skill-building competencies, and ensures adherence to Medicaid, licensure, and CARF regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Four year degree in a human services field (such as psychology, behavioral or mental health, special education, social work)
- five (5) years utilizing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities and associated with such positions (clinician, counselor, therapist, social worker, psychologist or psychiatric nurse) OR any combination of education (above the high school level) and/or experience equivalent to nine (9) years in fields utilizing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Must be licensed with the Virginia Board of Counseling as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), or Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP)
