Job Summary
Conduct crisis intervention counseling and provide group treatment using evidence-based practices such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Coordinate client treatment plans through case conferencing and weekly clinical meetings while engaging external and internal providers to maximize wrap-around support services. Maintain client records, manage utilization assessments, and ensure billing authorizations remain current. Participate in mandatory weekly multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical supervision, and professional development trainings.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field
- Experience working with a psychiatric/substance-abusing/co-occurring population
- Familiarity in working in a strength-based, trauma-informed environment
- Knowledge of appropriate community resources
- Knowledge of the issues affecting people with HIV/AIDS in recovery from substance abuse/alcoholism
- Experience with individuals dealing with homelessness, mental illness, domestic violence, and the criminal justice system
- Experienced in crisis management and intervention
- Experience providing individual, family, and group interventions to the target population
- Ability to meet the physical requirements and training requirements of the position
- Proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (currently one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine or two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine and a booster, when eligible)
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual, Spanish preferred
- Strong verbal/written communication
- Ability to work as both an effective team member and independently
- Knowledge & Practice of evidence-based practices, including cognitive behavioral therapy, relapse prevention and motivational interviewing techniques preferred
