Job Summary
Provide comprehensive mental health services including assessment, psychotherapy, case management, and crisis intervention for children and families. Formulate diagnoses, complete clinical assessments, and develop treatment plans utilizing a trauma-informed approach and Whole Person Care model. Collaborate with outside agencies such as Probation Departments and courts to ensure compliance with court orders while facilitating therapeutic groups or family sessions. Manage crisis situations using de-escalation techniques and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team. Administer standardized measures like GAD-7 and PHQ-9 to inform treatment decisions. Maintain strict HIPAA and confidentiality standards while documenting all activities. Participate in an on-call rotation and attend required Children and Family Team meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
- 1+ years' experience in report writing, assessment/diagnostic skills, group and family therapy skills
- PsyD/PhD/LCSW/LMFT
- Active registration with the California BBS or Board of Psychology as Registered Psychologist
- Valid CA driver's license
- Proof of automobile insurance
- Completion of CPR/First Aid within the first thirty (30) days of employment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook
- Ability to navigate electronic health records systems
- Understanding of the child welfare system and child development principles
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, behavioral interventions, and therapeutic approaches for high-risk youth
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment, remain organized and manage multiple tasks at once
- Ability to work effectively as a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle without restrictions, often in heavy traffic and frequently long distances (one hour or more) to ensure safe transport to client settings and to safely transport clients to appointments as needed
- Senses of vision, hearing and smell sufficient to regularly operate a motor vehicle, to visualize threats in the environment or risks to clients, and to operate safely in the field
- Occasional ability to lift and carry 10-20 pounds
- Ability to regularly sit, stand, climb stairs (1 or more flights) and walk while in route to and during family visits
