Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• •Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field from an accredited institution
• •Active, unrestricted state licensure in Ohio as LPC, LPCC, LSW, LISW, or LMFT
• •Minimum 1-2 years of experience working with individuals with substance use disorders or co-occurring mental health conditions
• •Current CPR/First Aid certification
• •Valid Ohio driver's license with acceptable driving record and current auto insurance
• •Must pass criminal background check (Level I and Level II - FBI and BCI), drug screening, and TB test
• •Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail)
• •Ability to learn and use electronic health record (EHR) systems
• •Strong computer literacy and ability to complete documentation efficiently
• •In-depth understanding of addiction, recovery processes, and evidence-based treatment models (CBT, DBT, MI, MAT)
• •Strong assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning abilities
• •Effective crisis intervention and de-escalation skills
• •Knowledge of 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality requirements and HIPAA regulations
• •Understanding of co-occurring mental health disorders and integrated treatment approaches
• •Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• •Compassionate, patient, and non-judgmental approach when working with clients
• •Capacity to connect and communicate effectively with individuals from diverse socio-economic, cultural, and educational backgrounds
• •Strong decision-making and critical thinking abilities
• •Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving skills

• •Frequent standing and walking throughout the facility to meet with clients, attend meetings, and move between multiple work sites
• •Ability to sit for extended periods (up to 6 hours per day) while conducting therapy sessions and completing documentation
• •Close visual acuity required for reading client files, computer screens, and written documentation
• •Ability to hear and speak clearly to conduct counseling sessions, respond to emergencies, and communicate with clients and team members
• •Ability to respond quickly to emergencies, conduct facility safety checks, and navigate multi-level buildings
• •Must be able to drive between multiple facility locations throughout the workday
• •Ability to maintain focus and concentration during extended counseling sessions
• •Strong emotional regulation and ability to remain calm in crisis situations
• •Capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• •Sound judgment and decision-making in high-stress situations
• •Ability to process complex clinical information and make appropriate treatment recommendations
• •Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (occasional evenings and weekends required)
• •Multi-site rotation required (Franklinton, Whitehall, Madison Health)
• •Must be able to drive between multiple facility locations throughout the workday

Desired Qualifications

• •Master's degree in Counseling or Social Work
• •Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), or other addiction-specific certification
• •Experience working with diverse populations and providing culturally competent, trauma-informed care
• •Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and harm reduction principles
• •Bilingual skills (Spanish preferred)
• •Experience with electronic health records systems
• •Knowledge of local community resources and referral systems
