Job Summary
Establish positive working relationships with youth and families referred to the program by carrying a weekly case load for in-home family therapy. Utilize diagnostic skills involving practical knowledge of the DSM-5 and family assessment tools to co-create a Community Service Plan and develop treatment approaches targeting identified needs. Provide strengths-based services utilizing a wraparound model, including safety planning and therapeutic groups focused on social and emotional skill building. Coordinate services to assure clinical coherence across all treatment providers and supports while maintaining ongoing collaboration with other service providers including the Department of Mental Health. Maintain record keeping requirements in accordance with agency standards and contractual obligations. Participate in weekly supervision with the independently licensed program director and multi-disciplinary team meetings. Be a member of the 24-hour on-call telephone support team on a rotating basis. Maintain a flexible schedule allowing for individualized hours including evenings and weekends if requested. Travel within the program catchment area between Swansea and Wareham.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited educational institution
- Interest in child/adolescent/family and intensive home-based interventions
- At least 1 year of experience working directly with youth who have experienced serious emotional disturbance or other mental and emotional challenges to well-being
- Awareness of personal attitudes, beliefs, biases, and assumptions about others
- Knowledge of the various dimensions of diversity, including gender, race, and ethnicity
- Acknowledging that people from other cultural groups may not share the same beliefs and practices or perceive experiences in the same way
- Cultural knowledge of key populations that will be served to address disparities in service delivery
- Demonstrates positive attitudes towards cultural differences by showing respect and openness towards people whose social and cultural background is different from one's own
- Demonstrates skills for communication and interaction across cultures, including the ability to recognize and manage personal behaviors, moods, and impulses to create an inclusive, equitable, and welcoming climate within the agency
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation that meets CFS Driver Policy
- Travel is required to provide services in different settings and to attend agency meetings, events, and trainings
