Job Summary
Develop and deliver student-centered wellness and prevention programming for the College of Veterinary Medicine while providing direct clinical services including individual therapy, crisis interventions, and triage consultations. Conduct drop-in hours for students, maintain accurate clinical records, and collaborate with faculty on student mental health concerns. Split time between the CAPS main office and CVM, transitioning to full embedding by the 2028-2029 academic year. Work flexible part-time or full-time schedules during 2026-2028, with a shift to 40 hours weekly beginning Fall 2028.
Required Qualifications
- A master's degree in a mental health field that prepares graduates for licensure (e.g., social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy)
- A provisional mental health license in Utah (e.g., CSW, ACMHC, AMFT)
- Eligible for independent licensure in Utah as a mental health provider within 2 years of hire date
- Clinical experience working with young adults (ages 18-25)
- Ability to exercise sound clinical and professional judgment
- Generalist knowledge and experience in psychotherapy (including teletherapy)
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and clinical documentation systems
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, networking, community-building, organizational, problem-solving, decision-making skills
Desired Qualifications
- Independent clinical license in the State of Utah
- Experience working in a university or other higher education setting
- Demonstrated understanding of the unique mental health needs of veterinarians and veterinary students
- Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development
