Job Summary
Licensed clinician needed for Newport Mental Health's Children's General Outpatient Team to deliver home-based assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to children and families. Provide comprehensive mental health services to children, parents, and families in various settings; maintain client records; coordinate recovery plans; demonstrate crisis intervention and innovative problem-solving; collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide interventions including therapy, crisis response, counseling, advocacy, and school-based services; ensure credentialing requirements are met; align with the CGOP Team Leader; conduct evaluations and help formulate recovery goals for families and teams; deliver services in homes, communities, and schools; offer therapy across child, parent, couple, and family contexts; participate in supervision, case presentations, and special projects with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion; meet documentation deadlines. Willingness to work a flexible schedule. Must hold a Master’s degree and be licensed or eligible for licensure in Rhode Island (LICSW preferred; LCSW/LMHC considered).
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, family therapy or a related clinical field
- Licensed at the independent practice level as defined by the Rhode Island Department of Health (LICSW) preferred. LCSW and LMHC will also be considered
- Minimum of two years of clinical work experience
- Credentialed or eligible to be credentialed as a Qualified Mental Health Professional through the Department of BHDDH within 2 months of employment
- Has knowledge base and can access all resources for hospitalization and crisis stabilization/hospital diversion
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a positive and genuine outlook about change with a belief that people can achieve positive outcomes
