Job Summary
Provide counselling via face-to-face, telephone, and online sessions, conduct psychological assessments, and maintain detailed case notes. Deliver community training and education while participating in regular supervision and professional development. Ensure practice standards align with child protection legislation and mandatory reporting frameworks. Maintain a Working with Children Check and National Police Certificate. Work 30.4 hours weekly from the Beenleigh office at social and community Level 5. Join a team dedicated to supporting children and families affected by trauma through evidence-based interventions.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work or counselling
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in providing counselling
- Registration (or eligibility) and/or membership with governing body of profession (Psychologists Registration Board of Queensland, Australian Counselling Association, the Australian Association of Social Work, or Queensland Counselling Association)
- A sound understanding of child protection legislation relevant to service delivery, and the effects of trauma on the individual, family, interpersonal, and societal level
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- strong negotiation and mediation abilities
- An understanding of working within a mandatory reporting framework
- Must have or be willing to apply for a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and National Police Certificate

- Must have a current Working with Children Check (relevant to the state/territory where the work is being completed)
- a satisfactory National Criminal History Check
Desired Qualifications

- Experience and understanding of issues relating to service delivery with an agency that is committed to socially and culturally inclusive practices is preferable
