Job Summary

Maintain assigned caseloads by providing direct care to patients, including assessments, individual counseling, group facilitation, and discharge planning. Complete daily progress notes, bio-psychosocial assessments, and treatment plans while ensuring all medical records are professional and thorough. Participate in treatment team meetings, case conferences, and unit meetings as directed. Comply with Federal Regulations, HIPAA, and confidentiality policies while utilizing walkie-talkies as campus responders. Contact insurance companies for authorization and link patients with aftercare services prior to discharge. Maintain licensure, attend mandatory trainings, and pursue continued education in substance abuse.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral health field
  • Minimum of one (1) year of supervised substance abuse counseling experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • An understanding of the relationship between substance abuse and mental health issues and/or self-help programs
  • Diagnostic, assessment skills and case management ability
  • Promote and enhance ones knowledge about the symptoms of psychiatric illness and addiction
  • Interagency collaboration
  • Ability to facilitate a group/lecture
  • Ability to set limits and enforce rules
  • An understanding of boundaries and ethics
  • Computer skills
