Job Summary
Lead RN/Charge Nurse on the ICU unit coordinating patient care on a designated unit, collaborating with the Clinical Manager to develop and sustain an environment that promotes excellence in clinical practice and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include adjusting schedules and patient assignments based on acuity, guiding staff, overseeing unit operations in the absence of the unit leader, ensuring safety and infection control, effective communication with patients and families, rounding for safety and quality, mentoring staff and potential precepting, participating in interprofessional collaboration, contributing to quality monitoring and performance improvement, facilitating safe admission/transfer/discharge, and fostering teamwork and conflict resolution while aligning with the organization’s nursing practice model. Requires an active RN license, BSN preferred, and recent nursing experience with acuity-level knowledge; night shifts and full-time schedule on the ICU – Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, VA.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact (required)
- Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred)
- 2 years nursing experience with 1 year minimum clinical experience in the acuity level of desired area (preferred)
- PALS ACLS ENPC TNCC and related certifications (preferred)
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of environmental safety standards and infection control
