Job Summary
Evaluate clients' mental health, addiction, and behavior to assess treatment readiness, then facilitate daily group therapy sessions. Develop individualized treatment plans addressing co-occurring disorders and family systems while recommending medically assisted options. Complete clinical case notes same day as service delivery and teach families coping strategies for behavior disorders. Provide case management services including community resource referrals and collaborate with medical and psychiatric teams. Work independently in a fast-paced environment to help clients modify behaviors and achieve recovery goals.
Required Qualifications
- Valid State of VA or Credential that allows for the independent practice of Drug and Alcohol Counseling
- 2 years minimum post licensure experience treating clients with SA, MH, and co-occurring
- Knowledge of case management for dual diagnosis patients
- Knowledge of medically assisted treatment options in the field of substance use disorder treatment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands
- Willingness and comfort working independently
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects under pressure
- Strong knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations (Google Suites and Microsoft Office)
- Understanding of diverse cultures and gender specific issues and the ability to incorporate needs of gender and culturally diverse groups into the organization
- Need for, and maintenance of, appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with patients, residents, families, visitors, referral sources and all other contacts
- Exhibition of excellent customer relation skills as evidenced by supportive and constructive communication with all contacts including coworkers, clients, visitors, families, and referral sources
- Monday through Friday, normal business hours
