Job Summary
Retrieve specimens for testing, evaluate orders, and determine batch priorities to maintain acceptable turn-around times. Perform wet chemistry extractions on patient, calibration, and quality control samples while adhering to Standard Operating Procedures and Good Documentation Practices. Maintain, calibrate, and clean instrumentation, performing scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting as indicated. Prepare laboratory reagents and quality controls according to established timeframes. Participate in training others on Clinical Toxicology wet chemistry extraction skills, including manual, semi-automatic, and specialty extractions. Work Tuesday through Saturday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Full training provided for new graduates.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- Proficient with computers
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
- Tuesday - Saturday, 3:00PM to 11:30PM

- ASCP or AMT certification
