Clinical Technician I

Job Summary
Greet patients, explain appointment expectations, and escort them to exam rooms for diagnostic ophthalmic tests including visual acuity, tonometry, and lensometry. Perform documentation of chief complaints, present illness, and past medical history in the electronic medical records system while accurately recording all information per established standards. Conduct tests measuring eye muscle function, pupil size, and reactivity; apply drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes. Assist with minor surgery procedures, intraocular injections, and laser treatments, including preparing patients for sterile procedures. Educate patients on medication administration and pre/post-operative instructions, scribe for physicians, and de-escalate dissatisfied patients using problem-solving skills. Maintain clinic environment through sterilization and cleaning, safeguarding patient information and medical records in compliance with HIPAA requirements. Full-time role (35–40 hours) with rotating shifts; travel required to Kent, Stow, and Fairlawn locations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time and lift up to 50lbs
- Must be able to travel to our Kent, Stow, and Fairlawn office locations
Desired Qualifications
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
