Job Summary

Assess potential service users in liaison with Health and Social Services commissioners and ensure participation in the care planning process. Plan and manage daily staff cover through duty rotação while providing out-of-hours clinical support. Liaise with health and social care professionals, including junior doctors, to plan and deliver service user care. Maintain effective communication with internal and external agencies, manage risk within the area of responsibility, and ensure all clinical colleagues receive documented supervision. Participate in annual audits, set quality standards, monitor care delivery, and support the collection of clinical data for monthly monitoring. Provide an educational role to service users, carers, and families while promoting the highest clinical standards. Manage and assess risk to protect colleagues and service users, facilitate a safe working environment, and occasionally take on reasonable additional tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • A Registered Nurse with post-registration experience in the clinical field
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Proven experience of leading and managing clinical teams
  • Experience of managing a process of change and supporting people through that change
  • Knowledge of best clinical practice for client group
  • Working knowledge of current legislation within the healthcare sector
  • Proven skills in leading, building and influencing a team in a clinical setting
  • Demonstrable experience of practising in a self-directed and highly motivated way
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including an ability to communicate difficult messages to service users and their families
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Negotiation and conflict management skills
  • An ability to provide teaching and mentorship in a clinical setting
  • Able to prioritise workload and manage competing priorities
  • An ability to manage and participate in the performance management process
  • Competent IT skills and able to use web-based tools
