Job Summary
Provide front-line leadership and decision-making for departmental staff while developing staffing plans based on patient acuity and overseeing daily operations. Monitor workflow to adjust staffing for fiscal goals and coordinate efficient patient flow, ensuring timely admissions and discharges. Assist the manager in achieving organizational objectives related to patient experience, length of stay, and quality measures by participating in process improvement projects, peer interviews, and occurrence investigations. Perform audits and report findings in various formats. Work a 12X3 day shift from 0630-1900 with days determined by the unit.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing: BSN required
- Completion of charge nurse training and competencies (if external hire, must complete within 90 days of hire)
- Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license
- Clinical Course Certifications (Basic Life Support) consistent with RN requirements for specific clinical area
- Advanced Specialty Certification or agreement to obtain within 2 years (CCRN, CEN, RNC, etc.)
