Job Summary
Greet patients with compassion, answer phone calls, and triage inquiries while ensuring all information is verified with the provider before responding. Manage clinical tasks including medication refills, calling test results, and entering accurate notes into the EMR system for multiple providers. Educate patients on diet, disease management, and lab results, then follow up to document outcomes in the electronic medical record. Maintain strict HIPAA confidentiality, communicate office issues to management, and float to other offices as needed to cover gaps.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- LPN license or MA Certification by the state in which employed
- 2-5 years' experience in a medical office
- CPR certified
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication
- Ability to make fine distinctions in sounds
- Ability to determine the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of the work assigned
- Ability to perceive general observations
- Ability to remain upright on the feet 75% of the time
- Ability to move about on foot to accomplish tasks
- Ability to bend body downward and forward
- Ability to extend hands and arms in any direction
- Ability to exert force upon an object
- Ability to pick, pinch, type or otherwise work primarily with fingers
