Job Summary

Answer patient questions, triage calls, and document interactions in the EMR while refilling medications and calling test results. Greet patients with compassion, take notes, and educate them on diet, disease management, and lab results. Work multiple provider task lists including pharmacy calls, maintain accurate block times, and mail abnormal labs. Float to other offices as needed to cover gaps or lunch rotations. Maintain strict confidentiality, follow Holston Medical Group policies, and attend educational meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • LPN license by the state in which employed
  • Certified/Registered Medical Assistant
  • 2-5 years' experience in a medical office
  • CPR certified
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication
  • Ability to make fine distinctions in sounds
  • Ability to determine the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned
  • Ability to perceive general observations
  • Ability to remain upright on the feet 75% of the time
  • Ability to move about on foot to accomplish tasks
  • Ability to bend body downward and forward
  • Ability to extend hands and arms in any direction
  • Ability to exert force upon an object
  • Ability to pick, pinch, type or otherwise work primarily with fingers

  • Ability to mail normal labs to patients and call patients with abnormal labs
  • Ability to float to other offices as needed to fill in gaps/cover office lunch rotation
  • Ability to attend nurse meetings and other educational opportunities

  • Ability to respond to calls/tasks to support, advise, and consult patients by phone
