Job Summary
Oversees and coordinates the flow of specimens throughout the laboratory, provides technical supervision of the section, ensures staff adherence to laboratory policies and procedures (safety and security), monitors performance and turnaround times, investigates and reports corrective actions, troubleshoots issues (missing samples and related problems), contributes to QA initiatives, maintains shift data for QA monitors, and collaborates with supervisors to improve workflows, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness while promoting a positive team environment.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent in Laboratory Science or related field
- 1 year of laboratory experience or 2 years of college with focus in Laboratory Science and technical training closely related to this position
- Ability to maintain professional discretion with confidential patient results
- Excellent communication, word processing and computer skills
