Job Summary
Monitor, guide, and support volunteer conversations for adherence to policy through positive feedback, debriefing, and crisis intervention. Respond to texter conversations as needed to support, problem solve, and de-escalate directly. Work with Emergency Services to conduct active rescues and make mandated reports in high-risk situations. Manage volume by efficiently processing a large number of texts while prioritizing attention where best needed. Actively engage in improving service delivery standards by collaborating with the coaching team to ensure volunteers receive optimal support. This 25-hour contract requires weekend work and includes a 6-month probationary period.
Required Qualifications
- A relevant Master's level qualification in the area of psychology, mental health nursing, social work, or psychotherapy
- Four years of relevant work or voluntary experience (equivalent to a Master's Degree)
- At least two years' relevant supervisory or managerial experience overseeing the work of employees or volunteers
- A good understanding of when to escalate service-user issues and take action to solve problems quickly and effectively
- Experience with mental health interventions or crisis management
- Relevant experience and a good understanding of the major issues surrounding providing a service to young people
- A working knowledge of relevant Child Protection legislation
- A strongly empathetic approach
- Flexibility in approach to challenges and ability to adapt methods of working to suit a changing situation
- Comfort with using technology and interest in its potential to drive positive mental health outcomes
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in meetings and over email
- Ability to move quickly and take big changes in a stride
- Excellent prioritisation, time management and follow-up skills
- Ability to stay focused and concise and solve problems quickly and calmly as they arise
- Reflectiveness and resilience
- Availability for weekend work
- Ability to work in shifts between hours of 8pm and 8am/8pm-4am / 10pm-6pm / 12am-8am
- Garda vetting clearance
