Job Summary
Certified Medical Assistant to support provider at Galen Medical Group's North Internal Medicine in the Chattanooga area. Responsibilities include verifying patient information, preparing patients for examination, taking vitals, entering data into the EHR, stocking rooms, assisting with minor procedures, scheduling outpatient testing/procedures, managing referrals and pre-certification, assisting with hospital admissions when needed, performing ancillary testing (EKG, spirometry, cryotherapy, etc.), processing prescription refill requests, providing patient health education, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards. Requires high school diploma or equivalent and CMA certification; BLS certification required; 1–3 years clinical medical assistant experience preferred; EMR experience preferred; strong teamwork, communication, and multitasking abilities. Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Certified Medical Assistant from a nationally accredited institution
- One year of relative medical assistant experience in the clinical setting if completion of a Medical Assistant program qualification is not met
- 1-3 years’ clinical medical assistant experience is preferred
- Electronic Medical Record experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multi-task and work as a team player
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to follow clinical pathways and protocols
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to handle higher-stress phone calls
