Job Summary
Supervise and support regulated and non-regulated direct care providers through evaluative processes, overseeing workplace health and safety and infection control protocols. Collaborate within the Leadership Framework to support decision-making in absentia and with other facility support teams. Apply Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics from the College of Registered Nurses or College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses when working with professionals. Ensure person-centred, evidence-based care for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and acquired brain injury while modeling the organization's mission and values. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Programs and Services, Health and Transition Services. A Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Registered Psychiatric Nursing degree is required, along with current NCI and Mental Health First Aide certifications. Bilingual proficiency in French and English is an asset.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Nursing Degree or Bachelor of Registered Psychiatric Nursing Degree from an accredited College or Faculty of Nursing as deemed acceptable by the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) and/or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM)
- Active and in good standing with CRNM and/or CRPNM
- Previous experience supporting people with Developmental and Intellectual disabilities
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in unionized health care setting
- Demonstrated knowledge of health equity issues, challenges and impact on people supported within St.Amant community
- Knowledge of Accessibility and Vulnerable Persons Act
- Proficiency in a Microsoft Office environment and working with electronic medical record
- Ability to work with minimal supervision as well as a collaborative team player in a team environment
- Proven ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relations with humility and self-awareness with all levels of staff, volunteers, people supported by St.Amant, families and general public
- Working knowledge of unionized environments and collective agreements
- Proficiency in both official languages (French/English)
Desired Qualifications
- Successful completion of a Health Services Management course from an accredited college or university
- Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Certification
- Current Mental Health First Aide Certification
- Conflict Management training
- Critical Incident Stress Management debriefing training
- Familiarity with relevant legislation and regulations (e.g. Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), Vulnerable Persons Act (VPA), Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS) Universal Precautions, etc.)
- Current Basic Life Saver (CPR) renewed annually at own expense
