Job Summary
Manage daily clinical nursing operations to ensure hospital standards and needs are met. Prepare and evaluate nursing staff activities and schedules to ensure 24-hour coverage. Serve as the managerial and clinical link between the Nurse Manager, Department Director, and administrator on call. Partner with an interdisciplinary team including attending physicians, RNs, and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes. Advocate for patients and their loved ones through safety interventions, emotional support, and education. Requires a BSN, 3+ years acute care RN experience, and NY RN licensure with BLS/ACLS certifications. Per diem pay of $68.96/hr at St. Charles Campus of Good Samaritan University Hospital in Port Jefferson.
Required Qualifications
- Passion for Nursing Leadership
- 3+ Years acute care clinical RN experience
- Prior house-wide Nursing Supervision experience
- 2-5+ Years leadership/healthcare management experience
- Knowledge of hospital and nursing policies and procedures, as well as regulatory agency requirements, and establishment of staffing patterns and schedules
- Candidate must be able to handle stressful situations, and exercise considerable judgement in applying professional knowledge in solving administrative/operational problems
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
- New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
