Job Summary
Oversee a team of social workers and case managers to provide supervision and services to justice-impacted individuals, including conducting psycho-social assessments for new intakes and managing caseloads of adults and adolescents with serious mental illness and substance use disorders. Review staff documentation to ensure adherence to quality standards and programmatic regulations, while providing individual supervision and chart reviews for case management personnel. Conduct community visits, maintain regular face-to-face and telephone contact with participants, and perform comprehensive screenings using evidence-based tools to arrange referrals and transportation to treatment facilities. Appear and advocate in court regarding client compliance, update computerized case management files, and participate in new hire and promotional interviews as needed. Provide weekend on-call clinical support and assist with orientation and training for new team members.
Required Qualifications
- LCSW, LMSW or LMHC
- 3+ years of related experience working with SMI or SUD adults and adolescents
- At least one year in a supervisory capacity
- Knowledge of NYC Court operations
- Must be willing to work evening and weekend hours
- Willingness and ability to travel within the 5 boroughs
- Bilingual
- Internal candidates must be in current good standing
Desired Qualifications
- Experience providing therapeutic services to mentally ill populations and adolescents
- Familiarity with the Alternative to Detention (ATD), Alternative to Incarceration (ATI) or other advocacy program models
- Knowledge of treatment programs (substance use, mental health, etc.) and other support services (GED, job training, YIP, etc.) for referrals
- Ability to exercise sound and quick judgment
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Computer literacy with the ability to quickly adapt to changing technology
- Knowledge of Evidence Based Practice techniques including but not limited to Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety, DBT, CBT
- Experience documenting client progress in an Electronic Health Record System
