Job Summary

Provide individual and group clinical supervision for SUD counselors, interns, and team members in accordance with state and funder requirements. Review clinical interventions, treatment plans, and documentation to ensure quality, compliance, and audit readiness. Facilitate case consultation, conferencing, and caseload reviews while guiding staff through de-escalation, risk assessment, and crisis management. Support oversight of assessments, screening, and service planning to maintain ASAM alignment and medical necessity. Collaborate with the Clinical Director and Compliance Manager to align schedules, workflows, and interdisciplinary team meetings. Ensure all supervision activities and incident follow-ups are properly documented and available for review.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Clinical Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or a related behavioral health field
  • Active California license: LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, or other qualifying behavioral health license
  • Qualifications to provide clinical supervision for licensure under California regulations, professional board requirements, and applicable funder standards
  • Proof of a 15-hour supervision course taken from a government agency, an accredited university, or a BBS-accepted Continuing Education (CE) provider OR 6 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in supervision
  • Minimum two years of post-licensure clinical experience
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • TB clearance
  • Valid in-state driver's license
  • Age 21 years or older
  • Strong knowledge of SUD treatment, ASAM criteria, co-occurring disorders, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, CBT-informed interventions, relapse prevention, and recovery-oriented services
  • Ability to provide effective individual supervision, group supervision, case consultation, chart review, and staff coaching
  • Strong understanding of clinical documentation, assessment quality, treatment planning, medical necessity, privacy/confidentiality, and audit readiness
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively to crisis situations, participant safety concerns, and staff consultation needs
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clinical, compliance, administrative, and direct service teams

  • Ability to maneuver, remain in a stationary position, grasp, push, pull, reach overhead, lift 25 pounds, access and produce information from the computer, operate a telephone, and understand written information
  • Biennial background check
  • MVR processing every year

Desired Qualifications

  • SUD certification or demonstrated SUD treatment experience
  • Minimum four to five years of experience in behavioral health, SUD treatment, co-occurring disorders, residential treatment, withdrawal management, crisis services, or comparable clinical settings
  • Experience supervising counselors, case managers, interns, associates, or multidisciplinary behavioral health staff
  • Experience working within Medi-Cal, DMC-ODS, SAPC, CalAIM, county-contracted, or other regulated service environments
