Job Summary
Accurately interpret and enter medication orders, ensure prompt dispensing and delivery, and verify IVs, carts, and kits before distribution. Serve as a drug information resource for the health care team while promoting safe use of automated dispensing systems, infusion pumps, and EHR technology. Contact providers regarding drug interactions, allergies, or medication reconciliation issues and ensure proper charging and crediting of medications. Provide supervision to pharmacy technicians and assist in training residents, students, and new staff. Participate in hospital committees and resolve customer inquiries to build trust. Work independently while adhering to hospital, state, and federal laws and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work independently
- Current, unrestricted license to practice pharmacy OR eligible for licensure to practice pharmacy in the state of South Carolina, required
- Licensure required within 3 months of hire
- Pharmacist Registered
