Job Summary
Clinical Staff Pharmacist provides medication management including prescribing by protocol, transcribing orders, dispensing, and advising clinicians and patients on administering medications. Responsibilities include monitoring drug therapy, coordinating medication use with pharmacy technology (including automated dispensing and barcode verification), supervising direct support personnel, ensuring safe and cost-effective therapies, and participating in quality initiatives. Requires ACPE-accredited degree (BS or PharmD) and Texas licensure eligibility, with BLS/ACLS certification within 3 months. On-site, full-time role at Odessa Regional Medical Center in Odessa, TX.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy with a BS or PharmD
- Minimum of one year experience in acute care hospital pharmacy operations preferred
- Must be currently licensed or eligible for licensure to practice pharmacy in the State of Texas
- BLS and ACLS Certification required or obtained within 3 months of hire
- Competent in acute care hospital pharmacy practice including prescribing select medications, transcribing orders, dispensing medications, monitoring outcomes, and providing drug information
