Job Summary
Provide individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level while directing and leading assigned team members. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver age/developmentally appropriate care, focusing on physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and environmental needs through the nursing process. Coordinate effective patient care delivery, identify clinical priorities, and initiate actions to improve outcomes. Ensure compliance with established rules, regulations, and guidelines while promoting shared governance and professional development. Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment through responsive, respectful, and professional behavior. Work rotating shifts and provide coverage for a minimum of one holiday per year and two weekend shifts per six-week unit staffing schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Nursing degree or Associates of Nursing degree and currently enrolled in an accredited BSN program
- two years of work experience as a Registered Nurse
- Certification in specialty area
- Successful completion of CSL competency-based training
- Extensive knowledge of the department's patient population, health care trends, community and regional resources and service availability to these populations
- Demonstrated ability to establish effective collegial working relationships with diverse groups and individuals, medical staff, and other healthcare disciplines
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
