Clinical Specialty Pharmacist Infectious Disease

Assure appropriate selection, dosing, administering, and dispensing of medication orders in specialized areas including nuclear medicine, oncology, and cardiology. Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential and actual drug-related problems while recommending formulary alternatives. Compound and dispense medications for accurate patient delivery, provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients, and communicate with physicians to facilitate care. Oversee technical personnel assisting in medication preparation and maintenance, and assist with academic functions such as precepting pharmacy students. Provide patient counseling when required and float to cover pharmacy needs as necessary.
