Job Summary
Clinical Specialty Coordinator (RN) in Operating Room for Thoracic Specialty. Oversees daily clinical practice, leadership development, staff orientation and competencies, and ongoing education. Leads department initiatives, participates in root-cause analysis, ensures compliance with infection control and safety guidelines, coordinates patient care activities, and collaborates with physicians and leadership. Responsible for supervision of RN/LPN/tech staff, coordination of education days, onboarding new employees, and supporting performance improvement, budgeting, and department policy development. Must maintain PA RN licensure and BLS, with Act 33/34 and FBI clearance requirements; strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential; travel between system locations may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program required
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
Desired Qualifications
- National certification in area of specialty
- Credits toward an undergraduate degree in health or management field
- Three (3) years of relevant procedural nursing experience preferred
