Job Summary
Assess and evaluate drug therapy to make clinical recommendations within specialty practice areas such as oncology, transplant, critical care, or nutrition support. Serve as a preceptor for students and residents while acting as a resource for pharmacists advancing their clinical skills. Maintain eligibility for Georgia licensure and hold required certifications including BLS. Perform duties with physical demands involving lifting up to 50 lbs and frequent standing or walking, with potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens and chemicals. Weekend on-call requirements may be included in the schedule. Emory Healthcare is an academic medical center dedicated to patient- and family-centered medication management and defining new standards of care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited school of pharmacy
- Eligible for Georgia Licensure
- Licensed in Georgia prior to official start date
- ASHP-ACCREDITED PGY1 and PGY 2 residencies or equivalent experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs max
- Must be able to carry objects up to 25 lbs
- Must be able to stand and walk occasionally to frequently
- Must be able to sit occasionally
- Must be able to perform close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing)
- Must be able to work in an environment with blood-borne pathogen exposure
- Must be able to work with bio-hazardous waste
- Must be able to work with chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors
- Must be able to work with communicable diseases
- Must be able to work with electrical shock
- Must be able to work with floor surfaces
- Must be able to work with hot/cold temperatures
- Must be able to work in indoor/outdoor conditions
- Must be able to work with latex
- Must be able to work with lighting
- Must be able to work with patient care/handling injuries
- Must be able to work with radiation
- Must be able to work shift work
- Must be able to travel
- Must be able to use personal protective equipment, including respirators
