Job Summary
The Clinical Specialist (CS) is a licensed registered nurse who functions with advanced nursing practice within the three spheres of influence—patient, nurse, and system. The CS provides theory and evidence-based knowledge to shape practice and core competencies, leads orientation and professional development, validates skills/competencies, promotes evidence-based practice, and participates in shared governance, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement. The CS collaborates with the multidisciplinary team as a leader, consultant, and change agent, requiring strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Four (4) or more years of clinical experience in the specialty/patient population of the care area/unit/service line
- Two (2) or more years of experience in a unit leadership role (including Charge Nurse, Team Lead, Resource RN or RN IV-level at UAMS or similar leadership roles)
