Job Summary
Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant assists with patient preparation for onsite and remote eye exams, performs pre-exam diagnostic testing, and documents results in EMR. Acts as liaison between patients and Optometrists, guides patients through remote eye exams when applicable, initiates remote video conferencing with doctors/technicians, and coordinates with retail associates to schedule exams and convey doctor recommendations. Responsibilities include preauthorizing insurance, managing appointment books, maintaining patient records, instructing patients on contact lens handling, stocking diagnostic lenses, ensuring HIPAA compliance, and adapting to flexible schedules including travel between locations. Requires strong customer service, detail orientation, and ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
Required Qualifications

- HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience
- Medical office/business professionalism required
