Job Summary
Serve as an initial clinical resource to Care Managers and Supervisors regarding complex behavioral presentations, health and safety, and quality of life. Provide subject matter expertise on positive behavioral supports, assist in identifying behavioral health and community resources, and participate in interdisciplinary discussions with providers and families. Conduct coaching and education on behavioral support concepts, documentation practices, and service system navigation. Review clinical information to identify gaps in supports and opportunities for risk reduction, while assisting in developing training materials for staff. Communicate emerging behavioral health trends to leadership and support proactive initiatives to reduce unnecessary hospitalization and residential disruption. Comply with all standards of conduct, including reporting abuse allegations to Child and Adult Protective Services.
Required Qualifications
- Master's or doctoral degree in behavior analysis, psychology, education, or a related field from an accredited institution
- BCBA Certification from the Behavioral Analyst Certification Board
- Two years of experience designing behavioral interventions, conducting assessments, analyzing data, and providing consultation for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD)
- Valid Driver's License from New York, or a contiguous state (i.e., Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Vermont)
- Ability to take ample public transportation to attend meetings in person in the community and in the office as needed
- Absolute sense of integrity and personal commitment to serving people with I/DD and their families
- Excellent interpersonal, communication organization and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work autonomously
- Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and ability to work in a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with both adults and children with I/DD
- Experience working in or consulting with certified residential settings
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, especially Outlook and Excel
