Job Summary
Part-time Clinical Social Worker in Boston Children’s NICU (Level III/IV, 30-bed referral center) joining a team of NICU social workers. Provide psychosocial assessments and ongoing support during infant admissions; offer supportive counseling to families as they process medical diagnoses; develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families; provide bereavement counseling and crisis intervention; offer psychosocial consultation and support to the multidisciplinary health care team. Must hold an MSW; MA LCSW required with LICSW preferred; PMH-C certification highly preferred. Schedule: Mondays 11:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m. and Wednesdays/Thursdays 10:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.; part-time benefits and a $2,500 sign-on bonus. Base pay details provided as part of a broader benefits package (noted in posting). Location: Boston, MA.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in social work
- LCSW in the state of MA required, LICSW in MA preferred
- Experience in clinical setting with perinatal mental health population; PMH-C highly preferred
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills
- Experience in medical environment or with chronic illness preferred
