Job Summary
Conduct supervised clinical rotations across primary care areas while observing patient education, outreach, and follow-up initiatives. Shadow attending physicians, nurse practitioners, and medical assistants during patient visits to learn clinical decision-making and care coordination strategies. Attend team huddles, care planning meetings, and population health reviews to understand value-based care models and business drivers. Engage with interdisciplinary teams to gain insights into operational aspects of senior-focused primary care delivery. Complete required background checks and drug tests, and comply with all HIPAA, OSHA, and clinical site requirements. This observer ship internship does not involve unsupervised patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled or soon to be enrolled in an accredited medical school (MD or DO program) or nursing
- Strong interest in primary care, geriatrics, or value-based healthcare
- Excellent communication, professionalism, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a clinical team
- Proof of enrollment from an academic institution
- HIPAA
- Certificate of Insurance
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs)
- Prior exposure to clinical or volunteer work in healthcare settings
- Must be able to stand, sit, walk and occasionally climb
- Physical demands include ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to perform essential functions such as typing, standing, sitting, stooping, and occasionally climbing
- Background check

- 0-25% travel to clinical sites as needed
