Clinical Services Nurse Specialist

Job Summary
Perform autonomous therapeutic apheresis procedures in critical care, emergency rooms, and outpatient centers, including plasma exchange, red cell exchange, and stem cell harvests. Execute venipunctures, manage central venous catheter access, and assess patient status relative to procedures using laboratory results and the nursing process. Coordinate treatments with physicians and nurses across multiple hospitals while evaluating medication compatibility and maintaining a clean, safe supply environment. Travel to various Red Cross sites to deliver lifesaving treatments and consult with external healthcare personnel. Variable first-shift schedule Monday through Friday with rotating on-call duties.
Required Qualifications
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
- CPR certification
- Bachelor's degree OR a combination of education and work experience
- Two years of experience in medical/surgical or critical care nursing, OR-related experience
- Good vein selection and venipuncture skills
- Good verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively discuss procedures and medical issues with patients, families, and physicians
- A current, valid driver's license
- A good driving record
- COVID-19 vaccination (or approved exemption process)

- Previous apheresis or dialysis experience
