Job Summary
Perform Apheresis procedures autonomously in critical care, emergency rooms, and outpatient centers, including plasma exchange, red cell exchange, and stem cell harvests. Conduct venipunctures, access central venous catheters, and manage vortex and bard ports while assessing patient status relative to therapeutic apheresis. Act as a consultant to external healthcare personnel, coordinate treatments with physicians, and evaluate medication compatibility for procedural safety. Assemble, restock, and maintain supplies and equipment in a state of readiness. Variable 1st shift Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with rotating on-call duties. Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse and CPR certification are required.
Required Qualifications
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
- CPR certification
- Bachelor's degree OR a combination of education and work experience
- Two years of experience in medical/surgical or critical care nursing, OR-related experience
- Good vein selection and venipuncture skills
- Good verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively discuss procedures and medical issues with patients, families, and physicians
- A current, valid driver's license
- A good driving record
- COVID-19 vaccination (or approved exemption process)
