Job Summary

Perform Apheresis procedures autonomously in critical care, emergency rooms, and outpatient centers, including plasma exchange, red cell exchange, and stem cell harvests. Execute venipunctures, access central venous catheters, and manage vortex and bard ports while assessing patient status relative to therapeutic apheresis. Coordinate closely with physicians and nurses to arrange treatments, evaluate medication compatibility, and consult external health care personnel. Assemble, restock, and maintain supplies and equipment to ensure a clean, safe environment. Variable 1st shift Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week with rotating on-call duties. Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse and CPR certification required.

Required Qualifications

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • CPR certification
  • Bachelor's degree OR a combination of education and work experience
  • Two years of experience in medical/surgical or critical care nursing, OR-related experience
  • Good vein selection and venipuncture skills
  • Good verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively discuss procedures and medical issues with patients, families, and physicians
  • A current, valid driver's license
  • A good driving record
  • COVID-19 vaccination (or approved exemption process)

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous apheresis or dialysis experience
