Job Summary
Receive specimens for storage, onsite processing, or shipment to partner labs, including inbound tracking, labeling, and scanning requisitions. Transport samples across facility areas, assist with quality control checks for courier pickups and destructions, and manage dry ice handling and freezer maintenance. Identify sample discrepancies, follow escalation paths, and complete daily checklists and dangerous goods training. Coordinate with Client Services, Sample Tracking Solutions, and Clinical Trial Materials to ensure accurate sample handling.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Knowledge of Good Documentation Practice (GDP)
- Knowledge of universal safety precautions
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Word and Excel
- Ability to work in various computer systems such as Laboratory Information Management Systems
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to speak effectively before groups
- Capable of executing instructions provided in oral, written, or diagram form
- Able to troubleshoot issues related to specimen management
- Lift, pull and/or push up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- BA/BS, in laboratory science, health science, or business
- Associate's degree with at least 2 years of clinical research, clinical lab, or other relevant experience
