Job Summary
Primarily responsible for delivering coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group within Labor/Delivery/Recovery, including OB Triage, Labor and Delivery, OB Circulating and Recovery, High Risk OB, and immediate newborn care. Responsible for day-to-day supervision and direction of nursing and ancillary personnel, coordinating care plans with patients and families, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. Ensure adherence to the California Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, and related policies. Includes overseeing patient lifts and mobilization, and participating in patient handling as needed. Requires proficiency in MS Windows, Excel, Word, and related software. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, and perform essential functions within a night-shift schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Current CA RN License
- Bachelor's degree preferred (BSN)
- 1 year of directly related RN experience in Labor and Delivery, OB Circulating and/or OB PACU
- Required Certifications: American Heart Association BLS-Healthcare Provider; Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP); American Heart Association ACLS; AWHONN Intermediate and/or Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certificate
- Preferred Certifications: Not Applicable
- Minimum Education: As required by certification and/or licensure
- Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree
- Knowledge of standard office equipment and MS Office suite
- English language proficiency for effective communication in clinical care
