Job Summary
Conduct investigations of sentinel events, near-miss incidents, and NYPORTS reports using root cause analysis methodologies. Coordinate clinical reviews, monitor medication variance trends, and oversee corrective action plans for regulatory findings. Serve as a consultant to providers on risk management issues while representing Risk Management on morbidity and mortality committees. Perform chart reviews, attend safety conferences, and present trend analysis to organizational leadership and the Board of Trustees. Maintain current knowledge of NYSDOH and CMS regulations by disseminating updates and completing mandatory education. Complete on-call duties and extensive weekly travel as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 2 Year / Associate Degree or Diploma Nursing program
- Minimum 3 years of Acute Care Nursing experience
- Plus 1 year of Quality Management (RN) experience
- Plus 1 year of Risk Management experience
- Plus 1 year of Performance Improvement (RN) including unit specific projects experience
- Plus 1 year of Leadership experience (including charge nurse, ANM, House Supervisor, etc.)
- Minimum 1 year experience with database management systems
- Current NYS License as a Registered Nurse
- Extensive Travel - you should expect to travel every week
