Job Summary
Conduct complete Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs), including Spirometry, Lung volume measurements using Body Plethysmography, Diffusion capacity testing, and Methacholine or exercise challenge testing. Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of testing equipment in compliance with ATS/ERS standards. Prepare patients for testing, monitor safety and comfort, and accurately record, interpret, and input results into the EMR system. Collaborate with physicians to discuss findings, maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation, and assist in training staff or students. Perform quality assurance procedures and participate in continuing education to maintain licensure. Requires current state Respiratory Care Practitioner license, BLS certification, and 1–2 years of pulmonary diagnostics experience. Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
- Current state license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
- BLS certification
- 1–2 years of experience performing pulmonary diagnostics
- Proficiency in interpreting and performing advanced pulmonary function tests
- Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow detailed clinical protocols
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., eMDs, Epic, etc.)
- Commitment to patient-centered care and clinical accuracy
Desired Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Prior use of Body Plethysmography equipment and PFT software systems
