Job Summary
Administer informed consent, obtain volunteer histories, and review medical records for study participants. Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, urinalysis, blood processing, and hep-lock placement. Administer IV medications, infusions, and injections per protocol. Complete source documents, perform data entry, and review quality control processes. Coordinate training for new staff on clinical study SOPs and protocols. Conduct participant recruitment, prescreening, and retention activities including community engagement and scheduling visits. Maintain accurate, confidential client records and support regulatory responsibilities. Requires DC RN licensure, two years clinical experience, and PRN availability up to 9.99 hours weekly.
Required Qualifications
- Licensure Registered Nurse (BSN preferred) in the District of Columbia required
- Two-year clinical experience post RN licensure required
- Minimum of one year experience with medication infusion and IV placement with in the last 3 years
- Flexible Availability: PRN hours, no more that 9.99 hours per week on average
- Ability to communicate in an effective and professional manner with patients and staff members
- Excellent face to face interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively educate, treat and counsel clients from diverse educational, social and economic backgrounds
- Sensitivity to all areas of diversity, including HIV status, race, ethnicity, ability, age, sexual orientation and gender identity
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to maintain client records and information in an accurate, timely and confidential manner
- Ability to effectively lead and coach others
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of general protocols for clinical trials and related programs, specifically as relates to the duties of the medical provider and ethical standards in communicating with patients strongly preferred
- Two years of experience working with people living with HIV/AIDS or issues related to HIV disease and treatment preferred
- BSN preferred
