Clinical Research Nurse - Hematology/Oncology

Job Summary

Maintain equilibrium between research participant care, protocol requirements, and compliance while advocating for patients and partners with clinic nursing to bridge protocol needs to clinical care. Assist investigators in pre-screening eligible patients, evaluating adverse events using CTCAE criteria, and documenting findings in the EHR for data entry and protocol compliance. Support the study team in reviewing concomitant medications, reconciling medication diaries, and managing investigational medication holds or modifications as delegated. Coordinate symptom management and clinical follow-up with clinic nurses, facilitate communication with multi-disciplinary teams, and identify operational obstacles to improve research efficiencies. Work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at the South Lake Union location, participating in study monitoring visits and Beacon orders validation meetings as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate degree
  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license or current NLC multistate license (MSL)
  • Upgrade to an MSL with primary state of residence, WA within 60 days of hire
  • Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent course, such as by the American Red Cross)
  • Renewal of BLS AHA Health Provider Card every two years
  • Minimum 3 years of recent oncology experience
  • Experience in the care of oncology patients
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated skills in critical thinking and problem solving
  • Demonstrated process improvement mindset
  • Ability to successfully work to deadlines and targets
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Monday-Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • 1.0 FTE, 40 hours/week
  • Onsite at South Lake Union location

Desired Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate in nursing
  • Minimum of 2 years research experience
  • Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN), BMTCN, AOCN, AOCNS
  • Experience with clinical research
