Job Summary
Clinical Research Nurse II (CRN II) provides research services to patients in clinical trials within Yale Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office, ensuring safe, compliant, efficient conduct of trials. Responsibilities include planning, tracking, and ensuring clinical activities align with approved protocols (screening, eligibility, registration, and protocol milestones). Manages direct patient care and oversees clinical and operational aspects of moderately to highly complex protocols. Requires strong clinical, analytical, organizational, and communication skills, proficiency with FDA/GCP/ICH regulations, and capability to coordinate enrollment, obtain informed consent, and maintain accurate documentation. Utilizes CTMS and supports training for new protocols; monitors for noncompliance and deviations; participates in audits; provides patient education and clinical information regarding medications and side effects; collaborates with investigators and staff to ensure protocol adherence and participant safety.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Minimum three (3) years of related nursing experience in a hospital, clinic, or similar health care setting or 3 years of clinical research nurse experience, or equivalent combined experience
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment
- Experience with regulatory: FDA, GCP, ICH and IRBs (preferred)
- Knowledge of CTMS (preferred)
- Experience in oncology research setting (preferred)
