Job Summary
Coordinate clinical research activities for patients with chronic liver disease, transplant candidates, and recipients across inpatient and outpatient settings. Screen patients for study eligibility using electronic medical records and transplant databases. Collaborate with transplant physicians, organ procurement organizations, and research sponsors to facilitate enrollment and protocol compliance. Manage collection and processing of biological specimens, maintain research databases, and report study endpoints and adverse events. Assist with investigator-initiated studies, regulatory submissions, and sponsor monitoring visits for liver transplant and organ preservation trials.
Required Qualifications
- college or university degree in related field
- knowledge and skills developed through < 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline
- Bachelors degree
- Background working in transplantation, hepatology, surgery, or other complex clinical specialties
- Knowledge of medical terminology/environment
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), FDA regulations, and IRB requirements
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat
- Read and understand complex documents, such as clinical trials
- Interact and communicate with clarity, tact, and courtesy with patrons, patients, staff, faculty, students, and others
- Interact compassionately with transplant patients and families
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong data management skills and attention to detail
- Handle competing demands with diplomacy and enthusiasm
- Prioritize multiple studies simultaneously
- Absorb large amounts of information quickly
- Adaptability to changing working situations and work assignments
